The SuperDARN Workshop 2026 was held at the Nagoya University main
campus during June 7-12, 2026. The workshop was hosted by the Institute for Space-Earth
Environmental Research, Nagoya University, and the National Institute of Polar Research,
with support from the University of Electro-Communications, i-SPES at Kyushu
University, Kyushu University of Technology, and several contributors.
There were 72 participants from 8 countries (44 from overseas).
The SuperDARN is a network of High-Frequency (HF) radars located in the high-
and mid-latitude regions of both hemispheres, used to study the dynamics of the
ionosphere and upper atmosphere on a global scale. During the workshop, a wide
variety of topics, including scientific results, technical issues, operational policies,
collaboration, and future plans, were presented and discussed.
The workshop included not only the oral and poster sessions, but also the PIs
meeting, several working group meetings, and a half-day excursion to the Gujo-Hachiman
historical town and the castle.
We would like to thank all the participants and staff who contributed
to the success of the meeting.
